The Beginning
1956 – Harris Manufacturing is founded by Peter and Ernie Harris.
1957 – Harris launches the world’s first pontoon boat built on an assembly line—FloteBote is born.
1959 – Harris patents the “Dolphin” nose cone intended to deliver a smoother ride.
Innovation Takes Shape
1964 – Harris is the first pontoon brand to anodize aluminum fencing for corrosion resistance.
Harris begins setting the standard for durability and design in pontoons.

1971 – Harris introduces the first sterndrive-powered pontoon boats.

1983 – Harris acquires Kayot Corporation, expanding into fiberglass deck boats.
1985 – Harris launches the Heritage Model with an extended deck and sun lounge.
1987 – Harris debuts the first wood-free aluminum transom and all-rotomolded furniture bases.
